Australia’s multi-talented Oscar nominated actor Hugh Jackman has Greek roots. In a recent interview with Journalist Elgka Ntaifa he had a lot to share.

“It is true that I have Greek roots,” said the actor, on a media junket promoting the upcoming installment of the Wolverine movie franchise. “Two generations ago the name of my family was Bellas, and I feel that I am a Greek by blood.” One of Jackman’s paternal great-grandfathers was Greek.  In the interview, Jackman said he was ready and willing to take up any acting opportunities there may be in Greek film. “If there is a Greek filmmaker interested in a brunette Aussie, then let me know,” said the Hollywood actor.

Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their two children were on the Greek island of Mykonos, invited to a private party by American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. The Jackman family then jumped on a boat and traveled to the island of Delos, near the centre of the Cyclades archipelago; one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece.
